Clyde Champion Barrow and his companion, Bonnie Parker, were shot to death by officers in an ambush near Sailes, Bienville Parish, Louisiana on May 23, 1934, after one of the most colorful and spectacular manhunts the nation had seen up to that time. In addition to this, they committed several bank robberies, burglaries, kidnappings, and automobile thefts. However, May 23rd, 1934, was not their lucky day as they were killed by the police in a hail of bullets.
By the time the posse stopped firing at Bonnie and Clyde, their car was riddled with167 bullet holes. Both Parker and Barrow were dead. Bonnie had been hit by 53 bullets; Clyde had been hit by 51.
